Retina Preceptorship
Given the success of previously held international courses for ophthalmologists with expertise in the disease of the posterior eye segment Retina preceptorship, this year in a virtual environment, led by prof. Mladen Bušić, MD, PhD at the University Eye Clinic of the University Hospital "Sveti Duh" on June 1st and 2nd, 2021, the third Retina preceptorship was held virtually.
International
Participants were ophthalmologists from 13 countries, Armenia, Albania, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Estonia, Georgia, Lithuania, Malta, Romania, Russia, Slovenia, Serbia and Uzbekistan.
Lecturers and presebters of professional workshops were ophthalmologists of the University Eye Clinic of the University Hospital "Sveti Duh": prof. Mirjana Bjeloš, MD, PhD, prof. Damir Bosnar, MD, PhD, Vlatka Brzović Šarić, MD, PhD, prof. Biljana Kuzmanović Elabjer, MD, PhD, assis. prof. Jurica Predović, MD, PhD, Borna Šarić, MD, PhD
New Horizons
The course presented the latest knowledge in the field of the posterior segment of the eye.
Also, the previous achievements of the Clinic related to the first applications of the drug Luxturna, which the Clinic achieves as one of the six in the world Certified Centers for the treatment of hereditary retinal dystrophies, were presented. Organizing such an international educational course where participants are introduced to recent knowledge and technological advances related to diseases of the posterior segment of the eye is a great recognition for the Clinic, the city of Zagreb and Croatian ophthalmology in general. it becomes an “exporter of knowledge” again.
